Project Overview

Rally Engineering supported our Client by providing detailed engineering services for the replacement of one of their two 500 HP, 7500 USgpm hot water pumps. One of the objective of the project was to maximize all opportunities to complete construction during normal operation of the mill to minimize required system downtime because of limited time and resource availability during the MSD.

Engineering Scope

The engineering scope included the design of new pump foundation, monorail, piping, and modifications to the Hot Water Storage Tank per API 650.

3D Laser Scan

Rally performed a complete 3D laser scan of the area that allowed stakeholders to review options for pump location and pipe routings. Piping arrangements were optimized for selected location, advanced installation, equipment constraints, pipe stress, and instrument and valve access.
